Hastings House is pleased to welcome Sweetwater Distilling Co as the newest still producing craft spirits on Salt Spring Island!

In honour of their opening, this August Manor Dining will be offering a signature Nasturtium Vodka Martini with nasturtium infused into the vodka on-site at Hastings House. This cocktail brings out the smooth elegance of Sweetwater’s Mt. Erskine vodka, a spirit made from mountain spring water and distilled 18 times in a copper still!

Co-founded and operated by David and Fiona Walls, the Sweetwater distillery is nestled on a 40-acre hillside farm in the scenic Cranberry Valley. The small-batch spirits are hand-crafted using local BC apples and the fresh mountain spring water that gives the distillery its name. Dave learned his distilling techniques from two very accomplished Master Distillers and is gaining renown for his version of the ever-popular Nocino, an Italian walnut digestif.

Located at 360 Toynbee Road, the distillery offers tastings and informative tours featuring the copper still and how the spirits are produced. There is outdoor seating where you can relax afterwards and enjoy the pastoral setting.
